Made from coir, a natural and renewable resource derived as a by-product of coconut husk processing, SpillFix is free from added chemicals and toxins. The coir is washed, heat treated, screened and graded to a specific absorbent specification before being packaged.
SpillFix can absorb up to 5 times its own weight in liquid, with the product absorbing up to 90% of its capacity in under 10 minutes.
Its consistent, uniform texture is made up of millions of capillary micro-sponges that provide efficient liquid absorption. SpillFix also demonstrates a preference for hydrocarbons such as oil over water, making it suitable for applications including emergency road spill response and oil/water emulsions.
The highly stable and inert nature of the absorbent makes it suitable for a wide range of spill applications, including acids and caustics.
